Microsoft Dynamics NAV has a three-tiered architecture which consists of a server database management system, server applications and the customer application. The solution may operate in local mode.

As a database the system operates Microsoft SQL Server. It provides a high performance of business applications and data protection from unauthorized access. Thousands of companies worldwide entrusted the automation of their business processes to the system.
The system has an integrated development environment specifically designed to extend the functionality of the application according to the individual requirements. The system may include objects of 7 types: tables, forms, reports, data ports, XML- ports, program modules (Codeunits) and menu sets (MenuSuite). It gives almost unlimited development possibilities: from changing or adding fields to forms or reports to creation of specialized integrated solutions.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV is tightly integrated with a variety of the most popular solutions: Microsoft Office System, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Reporting and Analysis Services, Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server, Microsoft Biztalk Server, etc. It provides its easy operation, guarantees updates compatibility, significant costs reduction for integration and end IT- solutions quality improvement.
Role-oriented interface: on the basis of detailed researches Microsoft has developed a typical prototype of the company with more than 60 roles of employees.
